First steps in Antarctica

The first ever luxury camp in Antarctica’s interior
Having skied over 4,000kms across Antarctica in record-breaking polar
expeditions, White Desert’s founder, Patrick Woodhead thought it mad
that only scientists and the odd explorers ever got to experience the
surreal and untouched beauty of Antarctica’s interior. So, he created the
first ever luxury camp in the continent’s interior and brought in some of
the World’s best polar explorers to act as guides.
The camp itself is situated on top of a 150ft ice cliff, overlooking
stunningly beautiful mountains and colossal ice waves. With a
maximum of only 10 clients per trip, each 10-day adventure is kept
highly exclusive and carefully tailored.
With an average summer temperature of -5 to -10 degrees Celsius
and state-of-the-art polar clothing there's no hardship, just an
unforgettable experience.
The camp caters for two different types of clients:
For those looking for serious adrenaline, the two December trips offer anything from ice climbing on unclimbed mountains, to learning how to kite-ski across the
vast frozen wilderness.
But for those wanting to take it easy, there are also two trips focusing on
Wildlife. They visit an immense Emperor Penguin Colony and also offer gentle walks along the breathtaking coastline. All this and as far from civilization as it's
possible to be.
Prices range from 28,000 Euros – 32,000 Euros, depending on the
choice of trip activities.
